High-intensity performance is not a single effort

The biggest moments in sport are rarely determined by one isolated sprint, jump, collision or change of direction.

Accelerations Jumps Collisions Changes of Direction

Most training systems focus heavily on improving peak outputs. Far fewer focus on improving the ability to sustain those outputs repeatedly.

Repeat Power Ability fills that gap.

Repeat Power Ability is the capacity to repeatedly produce maximal or near-maximal power outputs against an external resistance.

This course provides a practical and evidence-informed framework to understand, assess and develop that physical quality, and what's more... it's the ONLY course in the world on this subject!

Evidence-Informed

Your Instructor

What this course teaches

Dr Alex Natera has spent more than 25 years working across elite sporting environments, 2 decades of that time researching and applying Repeat Power Ability concepts.

His work includes postgraduate research, a completed PhD and four peer-reviewed publications examining Repeat Power Ability assessment, High Volume Power Training, repeated high-intensity performance and force-time characteristics.

Participants will learn the assessment protocol developed and validated through Dr Alex Natera’s doctoral research programme both the scientific foundations and the practical application of Repeat Power Ability assessment and High Volume Power Training.

You will learn

  • ✓ Why traditional and popularised power-endurance approaches fall short and lack specificity
  • ✓ How fatigue affects force and power expression across repeated maximal efforts
  • ✓ How to assess Repeat Power Ability using the Loaded Countermovement Jump RPA Assessment
  • ✓ How to quantify and interpret maximal power, average power and percentage decrement
  • ✓ How force-time curve characteristics change as fatigue develops
  • ✓ How Repeat Power Ability relates to repeated high-intensity effort performance
  • ✓ How to design and progress High Volume Power Training interventions
  • ✓ How to use assessment data and power deflection points to inform program design
  • ✓ How to apply RPA and HVPT principles across elite sport, youth development and return to performance settings
